I switched from Dashlane to Apple’s password manager in iOS 17.5. It handles OTP’s quick and seamlessly. It works fairly well in Windows 11. I’m looking forward to seeing the improvements to it in iOS 18.
I disagree with Leo. I think what he fails to mention is that what is revolutionary is the fully integrated approach rather than piecemeals like the others. The privacy approach is also revolutionary, with the three levels. We all know that Jeff is a Google fanboy because of his connections. Sometimes, he should remember his rules as a journalist: to be neutral, look at the facts, and be less opinionated. 😊
Unless Apple provides a means of quickly, easily, and seamlessly converting my currently 354 passwords with additional user created fields that I have stored in 1Password, then I’ll happily stick with 1Password. Over the years, 1Password has become more than just a password tracker. It has become my password manager, advisor, and protector. And the yearly license fee of $35 is very reasonable for all that it offers me across multiple platforms. But thats how the Big Apple rolls, baby.
Thank you for permitting comments.
And then... 4 years later they'll kill the product or completely change the functionality. So why bother?
I don’t mind the AI I just don’t like ChatGPT, there are way better AI platforms out there that have a higher success rate of being correct
Is this TDP or actual power consumption? And what formula did NVidia use this time to tell us how much wattage it uses?
100 watt cpu running at 1.1v is 91amps!
100w may sound like a lot but most cars can deliver that easily. Unless you are trying for maximum performance
Hahaha 100w are you smoking crack? My AMD 6950xt pulls 356w playing a game from 2019. That chip will need to pull 30x that to not be throttled.
Apple is trash mediocre tech, its for the basic individual who doesn't know what to do during packet flooding.😅
100 watts is a pittance
My 4080 can draw up to 600 watts but realistically 300 watts and that's just to display a game.
I want one in my PC, My RTX 4090 needs over 450 watts when pushed.
Hehe dawg gonna have to have a diesel f350 to power the battery bank. I love it. Roll coal baby
How did this recent event compare to the Carrington event?
The Morse code key froze from the amount of electricity going Thur it and burned down many offices for the railroad. We just miss a big one a couple of months ago. Had it hit it would have turned the planet off. It will happen again but when
It sounds like your are out of your depth. Do you wan that car to get you from point to point with out any killing yourself or others. Fool!
100W, LOL. That's nothing to a car. Bunch of drama to scare people.
How to improve electric cars? Increase range anxiety.
If you need it, then its not massively overpowered. Its adequately powered for its intended purpose.
100 watts! That's like.. er.. one of those old light bulbs! :D
I will be dropping 1Password subscription; just like I dropped my Microsoft 365 subscription this morning. I am all Apple’s ecosystem
It looks like they are just talking out of their ass without a research.
I stopped using Siri a long time ago because it doesn’t work, hopefully this helps
worked at a place where security was tight but the management was lazy as hell so at the end of our shift after we loaded all our work into encrypted files we then had to email all that info to managers and frontline forman because they could not navigate the software build to protect it but we were ordered to disobey their commands because they didn't understand how it worked.
Government knows how to secure things and could cooperate with legislators to enforce it on business, but they choose not to for some reason.
Now mom and dad have no excuse for not using long random string passwords.
And its not going to care about vibrations ? . & the cost wont be 2much ? 😹😹😹
100 watts ain't crap. That's efficient AF. Ignorant people don't need to be podcasting.
If you don’t mind 2 more clicks then this already exists.
100 watts is honestly pretty good. Your average server processor is somewhere around 250 watts.
I agree; that is why I am scratching my head. This sounds like an anti-tech rant
I think he said 1000 watts
@@garrydye2394 no he said "over a hundred watts of power as they run" and I'm not the only one that heard it.
"green"
There’s so many other features with 1Password so definitely not the time to go with something else yet. You can store so much more information and you also have an amazing CLI. But hey, just my opinion.
100 watts is not a lot of power.
100W chip is alot when compared to what a car actually needs to operate. It means that the up and coming cars will be bloat. A car is a 12V system and means the chip alone is going to use ~8A. Its going to needs its own fuse for that copper circuit. The Alternator in a gasoline car is going to have to adjusted to a bigger size. In electric cars, that'll use more capacity. All just so a car can drive itself. Its silliness. Then you have the liberals and Democrats saying be more energy efficient. The hypocrisy is getting out of hand. LoL Its bloat and excess. Every new car will need a better battery and battery manufacturers are already cheaping and dithering out the cells. Its all needless bloat.
@@complexity5545 A typical Headlamp needs 60Watts, that's just 1 lamp. The LED equivalent are a lot better, but the power budget of a car is pretty high.
@@JoeEbitDa Also factor in that manufacturer don't ever tell you what the wattage represents. Is that the TDP of the chip or the power consumption. If its a 100W TDP then that is insane for a car. About 99% of the comments under this clip don't understand the electricity statistic game that manufacturers lie about. The alternator in a car can do at max 2000W, which is about 160A of planning/provisioning components. Cars are getting more inefficient. Police cars and taxi-cab cars might use 220A alternator and they are inefficient because of all the lights. Most chips use to be like 1mA (milliAmp) or maybe 1Amp and now we're jumping to 8A for a chip. Its efficient compared to a server, but why does your car need this. Its decadence. Its similar to running a webpage with ReactJS. Its bloat. But I guess its the way of the future, to get people to sign over their lives for a car. Its bad economics. The wire in your car is going to get hotter if they keep tacking on components like that. The price of cars are about to sky rocket (if you don't know how to make your own). I'm going to buy some stock.
@@complexity5545 How do you work out what level of processing power you need in a car. Typically the power budget is in the region of KW. I think you are getting a little carried away, triggered by the video no doubt.
Over 100 Wtf’s
well it's not overpowered if you need that level of operation.
I’m sticking with Proton Pass. While Apples is nice, I am a multi-OS user.
Hopefully this Sherlocks 1Password. Years ago I paid for the iOS version and a HUGE fee for the Mac version. Then 1Password disabled my Mac and iOS version with an upgrade and expected me to pay $35/year. Nope, not feeling sorry for 1Password. Good riddens. If you listen carefully to the presentation, the new Apple Password App will be cross platform. It would be nice to see a review of the beta version to see if it holds to the hype.
Have yet to see if all functionality of 1Password is covered by the Apple app. 1Password is especially brilliant for families with mixed platforms and OS. The Apple-way or no-way sometimes really works against our Cupertino friends.
HOW DO WE DISABLE THIS UNNEEDED CRAP? Seriously, this is pointless and annoying. How do we get rid of it?
How does he not know what iPhone he has as tech RUclips lolz
I've been using iCloud Password Manager on iPad, iPhone, Mac and Windows for ages, it's secure and works perfectly across each of those devices. This episode seems to be a bunch of outdated rambling on.
It seems you missed the Apple keynote when they announced the separate Password manager taking it out of the setting page and adding a nice GUI to encourage more people to use it and to have continuous development and add more features with time, which is great!
1. Thanks for activating the comments section 😊 2. All eggs in the same basket are an inherent risk 3. The average lay person doesn't bother separating the eggs in different baskets
Yup. I use both ios's current password stash and Lastpass. ios is kinda a backup for many but not all. I'm multi platform so not changing that any time soon.
@@dr.eldontyrell-rosen926 thanks. Still, do you consider yourself as an average user? :-)
I have installed the beta on iPad 10 gen. It works just fine.
Ive got one of those new snapdragon computers on pre oder but its for work - that recall sh** is totally incompatible with a work laptop.
Even if Snapdragon chips will be equal to M series chips, not many will switch to Windows laptops simply because Window sucks even I who used Windows since the Windows NT saying this. Mac OS is by far better and more user-friendly OS. Even if I buy one of these which I can't imagine, I will probably install one of the better Linux distros instead of Windows.
Leo is wrong. Apple released a search application called Sherlock in 1998. Karelia Software released Watson in 2001, which allowed searches containing Internet content. About eleven months later, Apple incorporated Watson’s features into Sherlock 3. Watson disappeared, having been “Sherlocked”.
Bingo. I came to the comments to say this too. Good job with the details.
I think what Leo was simply trying to convey is that Apple has a history of adding new features to existing apps or creating new apps entirely that are are integrated into various Apple platforms that eliminate the need to pay monthly or yearly license fees to third party companies that may have initially offered similar functionality. But that's how the Big Apple rolls, baby.
@@db4a Of course, that’s exactly the point Leo was making. But he got the details of the “Sherlock” story significantly wrong. Furthermore, it had nothing to do with Spotlight, which came into being a couple years later.
I’m not a fan of having my password manager also be my OTP authenticator application. 1Password already offers this, and I don’t think that’s good either. It seems like a single point of failure.
It’s not an iCloud for Windows password app. There is already an iCloud for Windows application, with extensions for Edge and Chrome to autofill information. I haven’t seen Apple promising any changes to this application. Only macOS Sequoia users will get a Passwords application.
They did mention it will be on windows as well via iCloud app for windows.
